The day has come.

Came and went, actually. The book came out on the 30th.

But you know that, ’cause you’ve already bought it! Right? Right??

That’s right! My self-published short story collection is OUT NOW!!

I know you’ve already bought it, but just in case you forgot…

eBook / Paperback: https://a.co/d/0a6AmyVT

I’m told there will be a slight delay before it’s available to order from Bookshop, which is unfortunate (boo Amazon for many reasons), but when it’s up on there I’ll drop the link in the next blog post.

So what’s in this thing?

I’m so glad you asked! This collection features 15 (fifteen!) pieces of short fiction! I love all of them like beloved children, but if you promise not to tell the others… my favorite is Scout’s Honor.

Here’s the table of contents!

Sophie1
Choke24
Kokopelli32
Saturnalia56
No One Ever Sees Me63
Babydoll74
Head Trauma and a Big Problem85
The Sample Table90
Bricks113
Cinderella Auction131
The Guardian147
Scout’s Honor153
Sunday175
Stephen Is Okay181
Our Happiness189

If you’ve been with me for a while, you might recognize some of these titles. Sophie, Bricks and Babydoll were all originally published in Tumbleweird, and I am forever grateful to Sarah and Lari for being so fantastic to work with. Those stories would still be utter messes without your copyediting, Lari. You cool cat.

No One Ever Sees Me was originally published in Dark Harbor Magazine, which has since rebranded to Macabre Magazine. They were my very first “yes”, so they deserve my gratitude as well.

You know what’s fun? There are little introductions at the beginning of each story that tell a little bit about the story and its inspiration. I love it when Stephen King does this in his collections, so I thought I’d throw it in for you guys.

Some of these titles may also be familiar because they were originally posted here- isn’t that cool? You got to see those stories before anyone else just by being a loyal subscriber! See, you’re getting something out of this.

I would like to point out that there is something missing from this list (gasp). That’s because my short fiction about a faithful dog seeking normalcy after a cataclysm, Man’s Last Friend, is available ONLY in issue #2 of The Bleeding Margin, which you can purchase nice n’ easily right here!

Isn’t that fun? A little special story, unlockable by supporting The Bleeding Margin, which you should be doing anyways- SUPPORT INDIE MAGS!

Anyway. Enough blathering. I don’t have much to say this week; just wanted to keep everybody informed and EXCITED. Also, if you’re local to Tri-Cities or nearby areas, I’m doing a signing on April 11th at Adventures Underground!

Sick ass poster designed by Saige!

I would love to see any of you local followers there! We’re also working on scheduling a reading soon, so keep your eyes peeled for news on that.

Thanks everyone for your support! I hope you enjoy this collection. These stories are for you.

Enjoy the mug.

Monthly Writing Goals Update

25,741 / 20,000 words

This was a weird writing month for me. While I clearly exceeded my word count goal, most of that count was achieved in fewer sessions than my usual. I didn’t write as often, but when I did, I wrote a lot. You’ll notice I’ve removed and added a few things from my last active projects update- Yours Always is the title of Saige and I’s secret co-writing project, and I’ve taken away the two Malthea projects for now, adding Project Wishbone, which was a tiny draft I started months ago and just found my love for again. Most of my word count for the month was from this project.

Now that I’ve hit my stride with Project Wishbone, I should have a much more productive month in April. My soft goal is more writing sessions, even if it means fewer words per session. It’s important to stay consistent, and I didn’t really do that this month.
